Dick's Sporting Goods - In Line with the Holiday Season

Recently I was watching television and noticed this Dick's Sporting Goods commercial that I feel was quite creative. The commercial tied in sports, to families and most importantly connected them all together in the name of the holiday spirit.

Thanksgiving Ad

After a quick Google search it seems to be that the only type of Thanksgiving advertisement that companies are looking into are "Black Friday Deals", nothing at all to do with the actual holiday. Companies like Target and Walmart are simply focusing on advertising their Black Friday deals!

Hyundai and Kia, Settle at $360M

 

 As of today the Kia and Hyundai car companies had settled with the EPA and the Attorney General. The dispute was over false claims of fuel efficiency from both companies, ranging from 1-6 mpg. Will the car companies have a challenging time maintaining consumer loyalty due to their lower fuel efficiency? Or over the fact they stretched the truth over a decent time span?

Breaking Bad Figures - Marketed to kids?

Earlier this week, a Florida mom had discovered action figures from the hit tv-show, Breaking Bad, in her local Toys R Us. Clearly an adult show with adult scenarios, why were this inappropriate toys featured in a children's toy store? Toys R Us has begun pulling the toys from the shelves.

Converse suing over Trademark Infingement

Converse announced today they will be sending out 32 cease and dissest orders on many high ranking companies. Converse is claiming retail giants like Target and Walmart, copied the iconic shoe's image.
